Perbadanan Putrajaya

About

Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) operates as the local authority responsible for the administration, planning, development, and management of Putrajaya, Malaysia's federal administrative capital. Established under the Perbadanan Putrajaya Act 1995, PPj functions under the purview of the Ministry of Federal Territories and oversees municipal services across 20 precincts spanning residential, commercial, government, and green zones. Its affiliated and collaborating entities include Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd for land and property development, alongside strategic partnerships with federal agencies, utility providers, and technology partners driving Putrajaya's smart city agenda. PPj delivers an array of urban services and civic functions catering to residents, government tenants, businesses, and visitors. The focus service segments are categorised under essential municipal divisions such as Urban Services, Infrastructure and Maintenance, Environment and Landscape, Enforcement and Public Safety, Planning and Development, and Smart City and Digital Services.

Problem Statements

AI Powered Public Safety Surveillance Network
1

AI Powered Public Safety Surveillance Network

The current CCTV surveillance network across Putrajaya's public spaces, parks, and transit corridors relies on manual monitoring by enforcement officers, resulting in delayed incident detection and reactive rather than proactive response to safety events. This issue occurs continuously across 5 precincts covering high footfall areas such as Dataran Putrajaya, Presint 4 waterfront, and Alamanda transit hubs, affecting residents, visitors, and enforcement operations. If left unresolved, Perbadanan Putrajaya will continue to experience slower emergency response times, undetected safety incidents, inefficient deployment of enforcement resources, and reduced public confidence in city safety. An AI powered surveillance solution with real time anomaly detection, crowd analytics, and automated alerting is therefore needed to enable proactive public safety management, optimise enforcement deployment, and support Putrajaya's smart city transformation agenda.

Intelligent Flood Early Warning and Drainage Monitoring System

The current stormwater and drainage monitoring across Putrajaya's lake, wetlands, and precinct drainage network relies on scheduled manual inspections and reactive reporting from ground teams, resulting in delayed detection of blockages, rising water levels, and localised flash flood risks during heavy monsoon rainfall. This issue occurs across critical infrastructure points including the Putrajaya Lake catchment, wetlands inlets, underpasses along Persiaran Perdana, and low lying areas in Presint 1, 8, and 9, affecting residents, road users, government tenants, and emergency response teams. If left unresolved, Perbadanan Putrajaya will continue to experience delayed flood response, damage to public infrastructure and landscaped areas, traffic disruption on federal administrative routes, and increased maintenance costs from reactive repair works. An intelligent flood early warning solution with IoT water level sensors, AI powered rainfall and drainage flow prediction, and automated alerting to operations and enforcement teams is therefore needed to enable proactive flood risk management, protect critical infrastructure, and reinforce Putrajaya's position as a climate resilient smart city.
